Numbers:
This qualification is suitable for those who are interested in or are required to attend annual training in basic life support. While some candidates may be interested in undertaking this qualification for personal development, those working in a GP or dentist surgery may attend to meet industry requirements.
Who is this course most suitable for?
Very short, typically 3 to 4 hours (half a day).
Study Hours:
A maximum of 12 students are allowed on the course, and they must be a minimum of 14 years of age. A certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
Entry Requirements:
This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Candidates should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent.
Assessment:
Purely practical. To earn your Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support (Adults and Children), you must pass a formal assessment and demonstrate both your physical skills and your theoretical knowledge. The evaluation is thorough but practical. An instructor observes you performing CPR and using the AED to ensure you are "Competent."
Certificates are valid for 3 years.
